Angelea (Busby) Jacobson, near the end of the evening, carefully removed her tiara and stunning ball gown to reveal a flirty, sequenced dress and up-do for the dance floor, and then made a beeline for the roof to have a celebratory cigar with her favorite cousins. Meanwhile Jake, whisky in hand, is on the dance floor with his best buddy, belting out their favorite Kelly Clarkson tune. This (beautifully planned out) spontaneity is only part of the reason I absolutely love being around this fun loving couple. When we met, back in the winter of 2020, they showered me with stories and dreams of their wedding, which would take place at a super secret renovated venue in downtown Kansas City. The first, actually! It was an absolute honor to photograph the first Hotel Kansas City wedding, and made even more special by the grand event that was Jake and Angelea’s beautiful, heartfelt, and extremely fun nuptials. It was extremely difficult to pick just a “few” highlights from the day, as honestly, the entire day was just one amazingly fun celebration. Pandemic be damned – these two sure knew how to throw a (safe!) party!
