Emmalee Schaumburg, a long time friend and extremely talented photographer, and her fiancé Brian held a gorgeous Agave of Sedona wedding, and what an absolute honor to have been a part of it! Married only a few miles away from where they got engaged atop of Bear Mountain, it was an incredible weekend that drew their closest friends and family.

I am always appreciative when clients appreciate my dedication to storytelling and creative portraiture, but even more so when it’s an artist I’ve known and respected myself for many years. The merging of their two families, Emmalee with her two kids and Brian with his two, created some of the most heartfelt moments I’ve ever witnessed at a wedding (a photographer’s dream, truly). They laughed together, cried together, danced together; they let themselves fully “be” in every moment.

The following day, we put on our hiking shoes and, with many other hikers and curious onlookers, climbed up to Cathedral rock for a short (and windy!) photoshoot. As one fellow teenage hiker aptly put it “wow, its like a fairy tale” as Emmalee and Brian donned their wedding clothes and carefully stepped out onto the famous rock outlook.
