Its always an honor to be asked to photograph an important milestone in someones life, and when you’ve known someone for years, it’s even more special. Makenna (carrying baby Lila), Blake, McCoy, Milo, and I got together this summer for her Shawnee Mission Park maternity photos; a welcome escape after Covid quarantine. Even in the warm weather, they were rocking their session, and I think the boys had quite a good time roaming around the park as well. Below are a few favorites!

What made you choose Lila’s name?

Makenna: “Lila was my great grandmothers name. We were extremely close and she meant a lot to my family. Her middle name is Ray which is also my brother’s middle name.”

What are the best and worst parts of being pregnant?

Best: feeling her movements. Worst: ACID REFLUX

What part of being a mom are you most excited about?

Makenna: “to watch how her personality develops and see pieces of each of us in her”

What part of being a dad are you most excited about?

Blake: “to share his love of the outdoors with my daughter and watch her grow.”

How do you think the pups will react when you bring her home?

They will both be pretty curious. I think Milo will be her best buddy for sure, and McCoy will be her protector.  Milo already loves hanging out in the nursery!
