Sweet 16 Birthday Party | Gabby’s Alice in Wonderland Theme Event in Kansas City
I was over the moon excited when Gabby contacted me about photographing her Sweet 16 Birthday Party, as I had meet her previously when she hired me for head shots last year and it was SO much fun! I was even more excited when I found out that the theme was based on Alice in Wonderland, one of my absolutely favorite stories. Design and Events by Ashley was the coordinator for the party, and she knocked it out of the park! Her team was incredibly professional and so much fun to work with, and their ideas and decorations were amazing, from the hanging clocks, to the custom 7 foot tall flowers that adorned the party, to the alcohol free “shots” tagged “Drink Me,” much like the beloved story.
Purple uplighting made the ambiance of the dance floor super posh. Around the outside of the floor, several bar height tables stood, adorned with custom paper flowers, candles, and decorative moss.
As guests entered the main party room, the hallway was laid with vintage paper book pages, and they could grab one of many non alcoholic shots adorned with cute “Drink Me” tags.
Guests were able to snack on freshly popped popcorn, candies, and Gabby’s signature drink.
I was only slightly obsessed with her birthday cake, an amazing creation by Shannon Bond, a world renowned cake artist based in Kansas City. The attention to detail was incredible, and fit perfectly with the Alice in Wonderland theme.
Guests arrived to the Venue in Leawood and were quickly entertained by a local fire breather!
Guests were entertained by DJ Connections, a fabulous DJ group in Kansas City.
Guests were entertained during the party by two incredible aerial artists!
Ashley set up this adorable grassy backdrop for the Photo Booth area, and we provided the photography for it. Guests were able to hold up several Alice in Wonderland themed props and had a blast!
