Melanie + Drew | Wedding at the Topeka Ramada
Melanie, Drew, their families and bridal party were so welcoming and fun to be around; it was such a pleasure to be a part of their amazing day! I love how excited Melanie was for the portrait part of the day as Topeka offer’s some amazing photo opportunities. It literally started raining as we were finishing up with portraits before the ceremony, then stopped as soon as the ceremony was done for more pictures. It was meant to be. :) Their reception was held at the Ramada; a beautiful space with ample photo ops of it’s own. Here are a few (okay…more than a few) of my favorites from their day!

Drew is an avid golfer, so of COURSE when I ask for a golf ball, he has one on hand. :)
I am in LOVE with this bridal portrait of Melanie. Absolutely beautiful!
When it started raining, we were waiting for the limo to pick us up, as the bridal party had left to run by the liquor store. We ducked under this car port in downtown Topeka, which turned out to be an awesome spot for a few portraits. Sometimes the most random, seemingly “ugly” locations turn out to be the best.
These are some of my favorite reception moments to date. :)
This custom grooms cake was amazing! Next to the golf hole is a built in shot glass with an interesting looking green concoction. Looks yummy!
Melanie’s grandmother couldn’t make it to the family portraits so before I left we did a couple of pictures with her. This quick moment was so cute!
And the grand finale, Drew and Melanie’s “Signature” shot! They’ll have a large 20×30 canvas of this hanging up in their home. I can’t WAIT to see a picture of it on the wall!
