Reed + Becky | New Years Eve Wedding in Kansas City

New Years Eve wedding in Kansas City

I have been super excited about Becky and Reed’s New Years Eve wedding in Kansas City since the moment we met the first time – well, really, since we even talked over email from their very first inquiry.  Sometimes specific details about inquiry emails get muddled, but I specifically remember Becky talking about how they also had a dog named Meeka (ours is spelled Meika, but close enough!)  I remember being so excited that they had done their research (its on my “About Me” page), and pointed it out.  I even got to meet their Meeka during their engagement session this past fall.   (We still need to get those two together someday!)

During their reception, their speeches told the unlikely story about how they met, and how lucky Reed was to have found the woman of his dreams, who originally hails all the way from Oregon, and happened to get a job in small Atchison, Kansas, where he was raised and is a business owner.  They truly are meant to be, and just watching them be together is being in the presence of something truly special.  I am so fortunate to call them friends and look forward to working together in the future!  Here is a selection of images from their New Years Eve wedding day!

The trolley got stuck in the snow when it was picking up the guys. Luckily, the guys were prepared for such an event, even in their tuxes.

I suggested the ladies get boots since it had recently snowed and it totally paid off! There was a perfect spot next to their home where the light was dreamy for their first look. Becky was a trooper in allowing her dress out in the snow! I guess if you’re having a winter wedding you just have to be prepared!

Since it was a bit cold, we did a lot of their portraits at Cray Museum, a GORGEOUS historical home in Atchison. It was still decorated for Christmas and absolutely gorgeous!

After Cray Museum, we braved the cold at Benedictine College, where we also took some of their engagement portraits in the fall!
