If any couple was meant to be, Joe and Whitney just about fit that mold. These two met and fell in love in our nations capital, where they both currently reside. Sounds simple enough, right? Until you find out that they both went to the University of Missouri. Never met.
Both had extended tours in China, at the same time. Different reasons. Never met.
It was only after being introduced in DC that their stars finally crossed, and now they are wed. What a fun day it was, too! They took a risk getting married in the middle of the summer, but again, someone was on their side, because we had a beautiful spring-like day in early August.
I’m so happy to know these two, and I hope by viewing the next “faves” from their wedding day, you’ll get to know them a bit too.
Whitney, on their musical choices for the day: “We really wanted our songs to portray how thankful we are that God brought us together and how blessed we feel that He is always faithful. Both of these songs captured those feelings.”
Whitney’s favorite memory from the big day!
Whitney’s advice for bride’s planning a wedding in a different city/state/country/etc!
“Ask for help – it is really difficult to take care of all the minute details from long-distance. Find a point of contact on the ground – whether a family member, friend, or wedding planner. (My Mom and Sisters planned the majority of my wedding and provided so much help! Among many things, they actually did the reception site visits and sent us pictures so we could choose from DC).”

Such a beautiful bride!! I love her dress!!
Beautiful photos! I also love her dress and the colour of her brides maid’s dresses..it’s my fav colour!
Great detail shots! Loving the lacy straps on her dress too!
The pictures are great and what a sweet, happy couple! Looks like a great time.
I love all the details, but most of all how the bride was able to walk from her child home to the church. What a precious memory!
Love how you tell the couple’s story at the beginning. It makes the wedding post so personal and touching. What a great wedding that you captured! I’m also in Kansas City!
Great images! I love her dress!
