Wedding and Senior Photographers in Kansas City
I'm Melissa Sigler, a Kansas City wedding photographer, engagement photographer, and seeker of light, love, and undeniable romance. My wedding work is truly one of a kind, as I artistically merge capturing uncrafted, beautiful candid moments from your wedding day with creating breathtaking, natural portraits which encapsulate your love and personalities. I am dedicated to telling the story of wedding days, from the anticipation as the bride and groom get ready in the morning, to photographing your gorgeous details, through the intimate and fun wedding reception events and dancing. With natural posing and by utilizing my editing "special sauce," your images are guaranteed to be timeless, original, and classy; never overdone, cheesy, or a fad. I am honored to be a hand selected member of Fearless Photographers, and my work has been featured on many wedding blogs including The Knot, Desiree Hartsock, Borrowed and Blue, among others.
Your wedding day gallery should tell a story, and I never want my clients to feel rushed or uncared for. We are with you on your wedding day for at least 8 hours to make sure nothing is left to the wayside and you can look back on your wedding pictures in 20, 30, 50 years and quickly recall the story and the feelings you had on your incredible day. Whether or not you have a dedicated wedding planner, I am committed to making sure your wedding day goes off without a hitch. By utilizing my experience with wedding timelines, I am always happy and eager to help you decide where everyone should be, what times of the day would be best for portraits, and provide you with a first class experience only reserved for the most important of families...yours.
Serving the greater Kansas City area, you are sure to have no shortage of amazing places to visit for your engagement pictures and on your wedding day for portraits! Kansas City has many beautiful outlying suburbs such as Leawood, Overland Park, Olathe, Prairie Village, Fairway, Lees Summit, Brookside, Lenexa, Liberty, Gladstone, and many more. With Kansas City's rich history in the Midwest, there are some amazing venues, whether you are styling a classy, upscale wedding, or dressing down for a barn wedding! Some of the best wedding venues in Kansas City include Terrace on Grand (an incredible view of downtown!), Brass on Baltimore, The Guild, Weston Red Barn Farm, The Berg, Club 1000, Loose Mansion, Hawthorne House, Longview Mansion, and many many more. You'll definitely be able to find something that fits your vision for your wedding from the country to the city.
My passport is ready to go! Whether you are traveling within the US for your wedding, or anywhere outside of it, I'm all in. Traveling is a wonderful passion of mine, as I'm absolutely in love with learning about cultures, exploring new places, and most of all, photographing the journey! My dream destination wedding locations would include Paris (or anywhere in France, really!), the Pacific Northwest, Colorado (I know it's close, but I am obsessed with the mountains!), Hawaii, New York, and Ireland. We've done the beach weddings and we love those too! We run only 1 or 2 destination weddings specials every year, so please don't be stranger and go ahead and ask!
Yep, I was born and raised a Jayhawk. Don't be scared if you're a Wildcat, a Tiger, or a Tar Heel though...there's enough love to pass around. ;-) Hailing from Lawrence and with family still in the area, I am back quick often for weddings and senior pictures. Lawrence, Kansas is an absolutely beautiful community, including Downtown Lawrence to the beautiful University of Kansas campus, to Clinton Lake and everything in between. It's only a 5-10 minute drive from the eclectic urban alleyways downtown to gorgeous waving wheat fields. Some of the best wedding venues in Lawrence are the Oread, Liberty Hall, Alvamar Country Club, Victorian Veranda, Cider Gallery, Circle S Ranch, Arterra Gallery, Macelis, and the historic Eldridge Hotel.
Aside from capturing amazing wedding days, I also specialize in senior pictures in the Kansas City metro area. I LOVE this age in my clients' lives, as it truly is a merging between childhood and adulthood. High school students are finding themselves in the world, and I love being able to capture their spirits, whether they are athletes, dancers, in the marching band, or bookworms. We are one of the only studios in Kansas City that offer exclusive and artistic "Sportraits," one-of-a-kind dramatic portraits of athletes in their element. It takes an impressive set up and editing work, but it is so much fun! Take a look at our galleries to see what we can do. With a studio centrally located in Mission, Kansas, we are able to capture classic studio portraits as well as head outside to the city or country for a truly unique portrait experience.
